Speed and Velocity

Instaneous velocity - the velocity at any time

Average Velocity - the velocity in a given period of time ex: miles per hour

I think the differents is that one says how fast you travel in this case instantaneous velocity. The other one i think it is for example miles per hour i really dont know how to explain it . It take my friends car 8 sec for hes car to go 60. I am confuse with instantaneous but i will say that my velocity going to school is like a midium rate???? Really dont know what it means .

  1. Instantaneous Velocity is in that instant. At that one moment, when you look at your speedometer, how fast are you going. Average velocity is over a time period (minutes, hours, etc)
